Rat Queens Review

Rat Queens by Kurtis J. WiebeRat Queens, Volume 1: Sass & Sorcery
by Kurtis J. Wiebe, Art by Roc Upchurch (2014)

The Rat Queens are a pack of booze-guzzling, death-dealing battle maidens-for-hire, and they’re in the business of killing all god’s creatures for profit.

This darkly comedic sass-and-sorcery series stars Hannah the Rockabilly Elven Mage, Violet the Hipster Dwarven Fighter, Dee the Atheist Human Cleric and Betty the Hippy Smidgen Thief. It’s a modern spin on an old school genre.

Graphic Novel Review

You’ll enjoy Rat Queens if you’re a gamer, whether that’s RPG, MMORPG, D&D, or any other variety of old school dungeon crawler. If you’re a female gamer, or simply appreciate kick-ass women as real as the ones outside the game, you’ll love it. But it does require some familiarity with gaming scenarios to fully appreciate the humor, so non-gamers beware.

These girls are awesome, and I’d want them in my party any day.

Rat QueensRecommended for:
* Gamers of any variety
* Sly humor and kick ass action
* Strong leading ladies of every variety
